Are YOU a Center of Influence? (COI)
Do you want to bring new clients into your business?

    TGIF Wrap-Up Discussion Questions:
    1. What would it mean to your business if you were a COI?
    2. What are the characteristics of a COI, and what would it take to become a COI?
    Group Commentary
Being a COI is more than just handing out leads, it's something at a higher level, there's a charisma and empowerment involved. You have to have something more to give if you want to be seen as influential and successful.

There's an art to being able to convey this charisma as well as your strength (expertise, success, reputation, influence, etc.) if your audience reaches beyond your local community (were you can be seen and experienced in person), and extends nationally or internationally via telephone, conference call, teleclasses, or email (where you are not experienced in person).

Visibility and Credibility were identified as significant factors of being a Center of Influence (COI).

Visibility has two components: Awareness and Credibility.

Credibility comes from three sources: performance, reputation, and association.

You're ahead of the game if you can get others to recite your credibility speech.

Characteristics of a "Center of Influence"
    1. They are always "present". You always hear from them one way or another.
      Visibility is key.

    2. They have a credibility anchor. It may be a book, a series of articles, a signature speech, etc.

    3. They are at the forefront. We know their success history, their expertise.
      Reputation is key.

    4. They associate with others who are also influential, including those in other industries.
      Association is key.

    5. They "walk their talk", and just as important, they "believe their walk". This skyrockets credibility.

    6. They have chutzpa!

    7. They are confident in what they are doing.

    8. They have a consistent message that they send.
