    Tips For
    Getting The Most From Teleclasses
    • Have a tablet and pencil to take notes in class.
    • Plan to participate in the class. That's what makes teleclass fun, interesting and valuable for everyone.
    • Think through what you hope to learn and jot down questions you might want to ask.
    • Feel free to send the teleclass leader an e-mail if you want more information following the class.

    How To Dis-able
    Call-Waiting
    • Dial *70, wait for the tone, then dial the number for the class.
    • When you hang up, the call-waiting feature is automatically re-activated.
    • This avoids having the call-waiting "beep" disrupt the class.

    TGIF Wrap-Up!
Watch the Calendar for scheduled events
    Tuition: Free
Led by Dianne E. Dawson, M.A.

You won't want to miss the TGIF Wrap-Up where business owners come together via telephone bridge line (conference call) on Fridays to share successes, talk about the week's events and just enjoy the pleasure of colleagues in an informal setting. It's like a virtual happy hour--and a great start to the weekend!

    There's usually a
topic for the week, plus the camaraderie of the group. Come try out your elevator speech, share a great story, or tell that corny (but clean) joke you heard. It's fun and it's free!

This event is not currently scheduled. Watch the calendar for the next scheduled event.

    Teleclass Etiquette

There is a protocal for attending teleclasses. Keep these guidelines in mind:
    • Go to a quiet room to make the call. Ask others not to disturb you.
    • Do not use a cell phone, mobile phone or speaker phone. These interfere with the quality for the rest of the callers.
    • Disable call waiting by dialing *70, then dial the number for the class.
    • Call in at the top of the hour.
    • Do not call in early (another class may be finishing up).
    • Listen before speaking.
    • The teleclass leader will invite you to join in.
    • Introduce yourself by giving your name and where you are from.
    • If you join the class late, do not announce your arrival. They already know you are there, a short beep sounded when you came on the line.
    • Always say your name before sharing or asking a question.
    • Some leaders will ask you to press the #5 key before speaking. If they do, wait until they acknowledge you before speaking.
    • Use your mute button if someone walks into the room during the class. These lines are very sensitive and your conversation will interrupt.
    • Same for dogs/kids.
    • Be very careful about heavy breathing. Sound is magnified on these calls. Hold the mouthpiece away from your mouth unless talking.
    • Plan to stay for the full hour.
    • If an emergency comes up, do not announce your departure. A short beep will sound when you hang up.
    • At the end of the class, some teleclass leaders may ask everyone what they got from the class.
    • It is considered rude to leave during this period.
    • Take lots of notes, participate and have fun!
